Canine acupuncture appointments generally take place at home or in a quiet, outdoor area free from distractions that is familiar and comfortable for your pet. We start each treatment by needling calming points in the body, then treating specific acupuncture points that have been scientifically proven to provide relief to any disease processes within the body. We use a fear-free technique to administer all treatments. Appointments are generally 60 minutes and the needles are in place for about 20 minutes.

The length and frequency of treatments depends on the problem being treated. An acute problem, such as a soft tissue injury, may only require a few treatments, while chronic conditions, such as arthritis, may need one to two treatments each week for 6 weeks in order to achieve maximum response. Treatments are then tapered according to the pet’s response and can range from every several weeks to every few months as needed for maintenance.
